Backseat Gaming launches as independent studio with own RGS

Backseat Gaming says it has launched as a fully independent slots studio, now running on a proprietary remote gaming server (RGS) built and controlled by its own team. Trade desks dated 9 September 2026 (with a Best in Slot refresh into 10 September) carry the announcement.

What changed

The studio frames the move as the end of a roughly two-year internal build-and-test cycle. Instead of depending on third-party infrastructure for its core engine, Backseat says every layer of the stack — RGS through delivery — now sits with its in-house group.
