Field notes
Feature-buy is how the chest dies
The buy button is a product. Under a wagering chest it is usually an exclusion. If the PDF bans it, stay off the buy.

Keep these
- Feature-buy, bonus buy, ante, Super Spin — different labels, same trapdoor.
- If the T&Cs ban the buy, stay off the button. Do not argue with the PDF.
- Ante looks like a toggle. Under a €5 latch it is how people step over the line.
- A leftover bar spun, not bought, can still be honest. Buying the feature to finish faster is how the chest dies.
- The original Starburst file has no buy. That is one reason it sits on the grind list.
What the PDF usually says
Bonus buy is excluded. Or capped. Or counts as a stake over the max-bet line. Or voids the bonus if the feature is bought, not spun. Houses do not argue this on live chat in your favour. If the T&Cs ban it, stay off the buy. Do not argue with the PDF.
Ante is not innocent
Ante looks like a toggle, not a purchase. It still raises the stake and, on some files, the chance to trigger the feature. Under a €5 max-bet latch, ante is how people step over the line without moving the bet selector. The max-bet note covers the latch. This page names the toggle.
When a convert still holds
A leftover bar on Gates (/slots/gates-of-olympus), Sweet Bonanza (/slots/sweet-bonanza), or Wanted (/slots/wanted-dead-or-a-wild) can be honest — spun, not bought, under the max bet. That is the convert stretch in the slot notes. Buying the feature to ‘finish faster’ is not a convert. It is how the chest dies.
Starburst has no buy
The original Starburst file has no feature to purchase. That is one reason it sits on the grind list. If you need the bar to move without a trapdoor, pick a title that does not sell the button.
