Gambling-blocker Gamban says it has no link to Gambana, an offshore online casino whose name differs from its own by one letter, and asks people trying to quit to check the address.
Gamban, the software that blocks gambling sites and apps, has warned people trying to stop gambling not to confuse it with Gambana, an online casino whose name differs from its own by one letter. In a statement posted on X on 15 October 2026, Gamban said that Gambana "is not associated, affiliated or otherwise connected with Gamban".

What Gamban said
Gamban describes Gambana as "an online casino owned by JJam Holdings Ltd". It advises "those wanting to stop gambling" to take extra care that they are using Gamban and not Gambana, and to check the website address. Existing customers who are unsure whether they are dealing with Gamban should contact it through official channels, including support@gamban.com. Anyone who visited Gambana believing it was Gamban is asked to get in touch.
The company says it takes the matter seriously and is "taking steps to address the matter".
Why one letter matters here
Gamban's users are people who want gambling out of reach. Someone looking for the blocker in a difficult moment, or typing its name from memory, is the last person who should land on a casino instead. A wrong click can put them on a gambling site before the blocker is even installed.
Gamban has operated since 2015 and blocks gambling sites and apps on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, iGaming Republic notes. The Michigan Gaming Control Board began offering residents free Gamban licences in April; more than 80 of the first 100 were claimed within two weeks, Focus Gaming News and iGaming Republic report.
What is known about Gambana
On 28 March, the Irish Examiner reported that Gambana.com is owned and operated by JJAM Holdings Ltd, a company registered in Belize, that the site has been licensed by the Anjouan Offshore Finance Authority (AOFA) since November 2025, and that it has no licence to operate in Ireland. Ireland's Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRAI) told the paper that offering betting without a licence is unlawful and can lead to up to eight years in prison on conviction.
On 9 April, the Irish Times reported that Ait-Ahmed Djalim, secretary general of the financial intelligence unit at the central bank of the Comoros, called Gambana's licence "fraudulent" and said the Anjouan offshore financial authority "is not recognised in the Union of the Comoros". Anjouan Gaming has defended its framework, iGaming Republic notes.
If you use a blocker, or want one
Download blocking software only from the developer's own website or the official app store, and check the address before you install or pay. If you think you have opened a gambling site by mistake, close it and contact the blocker's support. Where your country has a national self-exclusion scheme, it works alongside blocking software, not instead of it.
