Games Global UK Limited now holds more than half of the shares in Wishbone Games, the studio behind Phoenix Reign of Horror, according to the UK company register. The entry dates the control to 1 October 2025 but was only filed this month.
Games Global UK Limited holds more than 50% but less than 75% of the shares in slot studio Wishbone Games, according to the UK company register. The Companies House record for Wishbone Games Limited (company no. 14060517) lists Games Global UK Limited as a person with significant control from 1 October 2025. The notification itself was filed on 8 October 2026, about a year later.
Companies House is the UK's official company register. A person with significant control (PSC) is an individual or company that the register records as holding real influence over a business, for example more than 25% of its shares or voting rights, or the right to appoint most of its directors. The register gives ownership only in bands, so it does not show the exact stake, and Companies House does not check the accuracy of what companies file.
The entry gives no price and no details of how the stake was acquired. Trade outlet next.io, which reported the change on 28 October, says the deal completed in 2025 and that it had asked Games Global for comment.

From exclusive partner to majority owner
Wishbone Games has been close to Games Global since 2022. In June that year it received investment through RNG Foundry, a programme run by venture fund Velo Partners that backs small studios and gives them exclusive distribution through Games Global's network, next.io reports. Co-founder Olaf Miska said at the time that exclusive distribution through Games Global "will allow us to grow quickly".
The register also shows that the two co-founders, Olaf Miska and Vlad Matei, each held more than 25% but not more than 50% until 30 May 2023, when they stopped being listed as PSCs. Both remain directors of the company. The studio describes itself as based in Cardiff; its registered office is in London.
Its slot Phoenix Reign of Horror was released through Games Global on 14 October 2026.
Part of a wider buying pattern
According to next.io, Games Global has acquired at least 10 studios in the last five years, in addition to B2B assets bought from Super Group and Microgaming.
Large suppliers are building or buying their own slot studios elsewhere too; Evolution, for example, launched Spinning Whale, a slots studio aimed at North America, in September. Games Global itself entered Alberta's regulated market the same month.
