The Dutch gambling authority reissues five-year follow-up permits for eight online operators as 2021 licences hit their first renewal cliff.
KSA renews first eight Dutch online gambling licences through 2031
On 17 September 2026 the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) said it had granted the first eight follow-up licences for online gambling in the Netherlands. The original 2021 permits expire at the end of September 2026. The renewals cover October 2026 through September 2031.

All eight met the requirements to continue on the Dutch online market for the next five years. Trade desks note this batch is renewals of existing operators — not a wave of brand-new entrants.
Tighter renewal checks
Compared with the 2021 round, the KSA now weighs finalised compliance breaches from the past five years. Applicants had to explain corrective steps and how they will stop repeats. The regulator said some operators also received additional attention points while still clearing the legal bar. iGaming Business (18 Sep) ties the sharper review to policy rules published in September 2025, including a market-wide exit plan obligation — a wind-down description if a licence ends mid-cycle.
