Six Feet Under hands-on: what Nolimit City confirms

Nolimit City art for Six Feet Under: a hand reaching up out of a wooden box. · Nolimit City

We played Six Feet Under before its 20 October release. Here is how it plays, what Nolimit City's game page confirms, and what it still leaves blank: volatility, the feature buy price and three boosters that share one description.

Disclosure: played in the pre-release version on playin.com. It is Evolution's free-play demo site (Evolution is Nolimit City's parent group) and is publicly accessible: anyone 18 or over (or the higher legal age where they live) can create an account there and play the games for free, except residents of the territories its terms exclude, including the UK, Canada and the Netherlands. Our access was not exclusive. The impressions are ours. Every figure in this article is the studio's.

Nolimit City lists Six Feet Under for release on 20 October 2026. We have played the pre-release version, and in short it digs much like Nolimit City's Fire in the Hole. Our impressions are below. The studio's game page already carries the core math and a full feature list, but the volatility field is blank and three of the paid boosters share the same description. Our Six Feet Under slot preview covers the mechanics in more depth.

The numbers on the studio page

  • RTP: Nolimit City lists an RTP of 96.05%. Check the game's info panel at your casino once it is live.
  • Hit frequency: 21.90%.
  • Free spins: 1 in 233 spins.
  • Max win: 30,000× the base bet. The studio calls this cap Happy Birthday. If a round's total goes past it, the round ends and pays 30,000×.
  • Max-win probability: 1 in 93 million.
  • Bet range: €0.20 to €100.00.
  • Grid: 6 reels, 6 rows, cascading wins.

The page also lists 13 October 2026 as Exclusive Early Access, a week before the general release.

How the board works

Each spin fills random positions on the bottom rows with dirt. Some dirt positions hide a symbol: a Bonus symbol, a Bomb or a Gem. Winning symbols explode and new ones drop in, so one spin can chain several cascades. A Wild substitutes for any paying symbol.

Bombs clear paying symbols and dirt in fixed patterns. The studio lists six types:

  • Small Box Bomb: a 3×3 square.
  • Teddy Bear Bomb: a cross, up to 2 positions in each direction.
  • Big Box Bomb: a 5×5 square.
  • Glass Can Bomb: its own row plus the rows above and below.
  • Gasoline Bomb: its own column plus the columns either side.
  • Cake Bomb: its row, its column and both diagonals.

Gems are where the dirt matters. A Gem pays its value times the base bet, but only when a Bomb blows away the dirt covering it. At the start of every cascade, each Gem's value grows by its base value. Base values run from 1× to 1,000×. In plain terms, a Gem that stays buried through several cascades is worth more when a Bomb finally uncovers it.

The Shovel removes itself and adds random Gems to empty dirt on its reel, upgrading Gems already there. The Toolbox does the same across all reels.

The Descent is the bonus round. It needs 3 Bonus symbols; Bonus symbols still under dirt don't count. The board starts empty, and dirt is added on every drop. Dirt is sticky, and the round ends when dirt fills the board. For each Bonus symbol beyond 3 that helps trigger the round, the next-lowest Gem value cannot land during The Descent.

How it plays

These notes are from the game as played in the pre-release version on playin.com, a free-play demo site open to adult account holders outside the territories its terms exclude. They are impressions, not test results; every number in this article is the studio's.

The dig. Mechanically, it reminded us of Nolimit City's Fire in the Hole. You dig the dirt away through wins, explosions and features, and the playable field grows as you go. Cascades run through the dirt, and the Gems sit beneath it. Visually, too, it is closer to Fire in the Hole than to Serial.

Sound. The bonus round plays rock music. The base game runs on ambient sound. Both fit the theme.

The background. During base-game spins it is worth watching behind the reels. Now and then a skeleton shows in the coffin, which looks more like a wooden box, or a woman crouches at its side. At one point she briefly reaches a hand toward the player, a small jump-scare that works well.

A link to Serial? This is our impression, and the studio has not confirmed it. The story seems to carry on from Nolimit City's Serial, the studio's serial-killer slot. The woman in the coffin also looks to us like the grey symbol character from Serial.

Our take so far. At first glance it looks gloomy and not especially new. In play, we found it well made, and the music and setting suit the concept.

Boosters, Side Hustle and xTra

The paid boosters cost from 3× to 3,000× the base bet:

  • Bonus Booster (3×): guarantees a Bonus symbol hidden under the dirt.
  • Pure Spin, Purer Spin 50x and Greedy Spin: the studio page gives all three the same text: a cost of 8× the base bet, with only Gems of base value 5× or higher landing. Until Nolimit City publishes separate descriptions, treat that shared text as unconfirmed.
  • Greedier Spin (300×): fills every dirt position with Gems worth 50× or more.
  • Greediest Spin (3,000×): fills every dirt position with 1,000× Gems.

Our calculation, using the studio's €0.20 minimum bet: one Greediest Spin would cost €600 (3,000 × €0.20). These are optional. If you plan to try paid features, set a budget first. Our responsible gambling page has the tools.

Side Hustle is an optional side bet on a specific outcome, such as a given Bomb exploding, a spin ending with no dirt, or The Descent reaching at least 12 spins. It pays a fixed amount on top of other wins. The page does not list the costs or payouts.

xTra can offer an extra paid spin when a round ends. It keeps dirt that hides symbols plus any Bonus symbols. The offer only appears if its cost is no more than the round's total win.

What the studio page still leaves blank

  • Volatility: not stated by the studio; the field is empty. We give no volatility rating of our own.
  • Feature buy: marked "Yes", with no price or description.
  • Pure, Purer and Greedy Spin: one shared description, as above.
  • Demo: the page says to check back for "game teasers, screenshots, reviews, and even a free demo before the game goes live". There are no highlight clips yet.

Until those fields are filled in, treat anything you read about them as unconfirmed. For the full mechanics walk-through, see the Six Feet Under slot preview.
